Case study Life of Pi

1.'The life of Pi'(2012)
A young man who survives a disaster at sea is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery. While cast away, he forms an unexpected connection with another survivor: a fearsome Bengal tiger.
Director: Ang lee.
Writers:David magee(screenplay), Yann Martel(novel)
When Pi with his tiger arrived an island, the tiger eat the meerkat. But the other meerkats do nothing at all,
They saw their companion be eaten by tiger. The director want to discuss the vegetarian who not prevent
people  who eat meat. It is similar with the tiger eat the meerkat. I think this is a complicated question.
Sometimes the vegetarian is based on the level of food, If people in the wild word for live, people more
closed to the animal. On the contrary, living in the human society, people more become to the human
who should control their side of brutish.

Religion and vegetarian

There are many reasons to be vegetarian, but many people do not eat meat always because of the religion. Jainism are all strict vegetarian.Hindus  do not eat, because of that divinity is present in all forms of life---human or otherwise. In an endeavor to relate to the world outside in meaningful and harmonious
way, Hindus approach all life in the same way, which love with violence. No exception is made for animals.
Buddhism encourages vegetarianism as beneficial for developing compassion.
Taosim is courage people do not eat meat.
Through this religion is the biggset affect of vegetarian, it promot the development of vegetarian.

My own expericens as a semi-vegetarian

Vegetarian is a life style, it is about the what you choose and you got happy from that. Even for chinses people, there are many evidences in history. Many people do not eat meat because they believed in Buddhism.
In 522,Emperor Liangwu belived in Buddhism and suggest monks and Buddhism nuns to be vegetarians. This is the earlist record about the vegetarian in China.
For me, I have met many things when I said I was semi-vegetarian.
The questions like these: why you choose to be a vegetarian ? How you could bear that life without meat ?
Even someone who suggest that you taste the meat ? It is drive me crazy. I felt uncomfortable when these things
happened many times. The worst thing is that when I have dinner in Chinese hot pot restaurant with my friend.
Hot pot is very popular type of Chinese food. People always sitting beside a big table and use a big pot which be
divided into two part(spicy and regularly)They are all meat eating people except me, and they should waiting for me to eat until I was full. This is awkward
and make me fell I was a trouble.

Basic definition of vegan

Through the pie chart which shows many people are vegetarians. But they are still small group. They still have many unfair or aspect escape public notic.

Green design ,bye bye.

Today I got the feedback of my studio progress review which is shows that I came to the blind alley. Because I can't do nothing practice of my topic. Actually The green design is a good concept of design even graphic design. I also have practice to do like green package, or redesign the old stuff, but it seems not my interesting area. So I gave up the topic. At this time, Jaap gave me inspiretion :Looking myself, what is the ture direction is more than anything else. So I consider the plants.I always love plants, the best experience is watching your plant grow up. I looking back to the start point, thinking the things that I was interested in. Finnally I choose the Vgegetarian.
I was not the strcit vegetarian.I just not eat the red meat. It seems not persuasion, semi-vegetarian?
Yes, the definition is really exist. There are different types of vegetarian.I was here. And I have many things to share when you are semi-vegetarian.

Design for the future

So Thomas Friedman’s long New York Times Magazine essay today hits on his newest metaphor for changing the world: “Green is the new red, white and blue.”
Norman Foster quoted Thomas Friedman‘s speaking. Norman Foster who was the environmental consider architect, his buliding always consider the complycated elements.
The Reichstag opened in 1894 but was severely damaged by a fire in 1933. It was partially restored in the 60s, but the final work by British architects Fosters & Partners was done in 1999, causing it to flourish as the modern Bundestag. Featuring a magnificent-glazed cupola on its terrace roof, the building is now a radical and perfect example of energy efficiency and power storage.

The gorgeous glass cupola brings plenty of natural light and ventilation down to the parliament floors and into its own entrance, reflected by its mirrored-core. More natural light do not use electricty.

No paper

When I though this conception, digital products come into my eyes. We are used to watching the information from the internet, samrt phone, the lap top, and the digital readers. These must be the best practice of NO PAPER practice. To make a ebook, souds like it is easy and many people have done that before. Digtal could be everything.
This picture shows the United Visual Artists (UVA) has been commissioned by Virgin Media to create an immersive light installation on London’s South Bank to mark the tenth anniversary of broadband in the UK. ‘Speed of Light’ is a series of installations that explore the themes of communication and modernity. Stripped back to its materials, fibre optic is a thin strand of glass, with nothing more than a flickering beam of light. UVA have used this beam as the starting point for their work. The installations dramatize the experience of using fibre-optic communication, re-imagining it as an immersive environment.
They combine the soud input and the light. Making them together, light and sound. But it couldn't help my concept no paper. It just show the light. How can I make it?
