London Fashion week

London fashion week is one of the fashion event of the world. And London was better-know as advance and creativity. I could deeply felt the importance of creativity for London, that is the reason attract me from China to London study design. Back to talk about London Fashion Week, I do not have ticket to enter the show, but I still want to take part in this event. So I went to Somerset House, the main show place of the fashion week. When I came to there, in accordance with expectation everybody looks great. As a student study graphic design, the VI design much more excited to me . I came to  a information desk and pick up the handout, the tone is green and blue ,the color is clearly and easy to see. The graph element is circle,and one circle next to another circle, when you look the all the page, positive space and the negative space became to a wonderful relationship. The negative space looks like the stars or flowers. And the billboard to be changed by the blending effect. The color looks harmonious. When a designer get a work , the designer should consider the enviroment the graphic existing. The VI of London Fashion Week have done it beautifully. I think this is what I got from the fashion week beside the fashion.

Review Frieze Art Fair

I have visited The Frieze Art Fair at Regent's Park with my friends. The Frieze Art Fair was knew as the most biggest art activity in UK.

Before we come to the fair, we check the date and the content about the art fair. But we just as visitor to the event. When we come to this fair entrance I have been seduced by the wallpaper. The picture shows below, the illustration of shoes have been put on the wall and the floor. Actually just a pair of shoes, I have thought the reason why this wallpaper attract me. The size ,yes, must the size. The one graphic(the pair of shoes) repeat all over the space. Secondly, the color, only three colors:red, green, black. Red and green is a pair contrast color. It made a very strong contrastive effect.

Turn to the art work,I want to introduce the network sphere network 4** that was made by Tomás Saraceno who  used to be a architect, and then to be an artist. His art work combine the spirit of architecture.His work offer a new way to make art work, but to a visitor ,to honest I can't read his work,even though I have check the background about his work. But I still attract by his work. So, I want to discuss his work with other people or read more materials about the contemporary art.

window display——communication

When I walk down the street I always be attract by the winds. Window design is very interesting design, because it is not only to making goods look pretty, but also like art work. Window display could  promotion items, it could take effect of building the brand also making the brand more valuable.
The photography below shows that the window display of Banana Republic Regent Street on fall 2012. I take the picture three months ago, I was attract by this display, the shape is very huge, the color very bright, and the form is very simple. The designer use the element of British flag. It also abstract. But I found some different between the two window after I carefully observation . The left side picture only use the flat printing background, the other one made the flat graphic to be stereoscopic. Obviously I  like the 3D one more. For this section, I felt that the same graphic, same meaning, same color, turn it to another way to display  that gave a different express to audiences. How a successful communication is. When we make our design work, we always get struck after we have a good idea. The display is also a key link of our final design work. I think the window display gave many thinking to how to make my work more harmonious and more powerful.

The futrue of graphic design

I found a picture made by Kan Tai-keung, he was the first designer who I knew。His work well

know in China and he to be one of  AGI member many years ago. The poster below was

designed for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. To be a AGI member must be most graphic designer's 

goal. But I found that there is a significant change in graphic design area. The new technology 

changed the pattern of design , the poster change to be move( like the short video), more and more

screen to be used in tube station or bus station. This is a challenge to each graphic designers.

I think that graphic not just the traditional graphic before which should to be more crossover. We

should take more powerful weapon on our performance. We must study more software or try to

cooperation with other people .Now days, graphic design more like foundation of design , if you 

are a graphic designer you almost could do another kind of design .we are not be fixed. 

We must look forward.

Story Teller-Tim Walker

Tim Walker is one of the most visually exciting and influential fashion photographers working today. I am a fan of Tim's work. His exhibition was opened last weekend in somerset house(18 october 2012).

I think that Story Teller and childish are the keywords of his work. Just like the picture below, the egg man be broken, the audiences  must want to know the reason . Why is was broken? That is a question Tim gave us .
Tim's work not only  fashion ,but also some story inside. That is reason why his photograph could be drawn from the pages of  of the world’s leading magazineslike, Vogue, Vanity Fair, W and The New Yorker.

For this exhition, the way of display was very attracted me, there are many installations and a selection of the extraordinary  models on the show. Like the doomed Spitfire fighter plane (place on the entrance).The photographs  hang on the walls, vistors could see the photographs and the prop at the same time. And the prop is huge, this is very good pattern to make a show, it reduce the distance between the audiences and the photo. Fashion is not too miraculous, this must Tim want to show us. From this show , I have noticed that story telling not just novel, video and illustration, photograph is also could tell story and own it's style.

To my project--- Map, not just the guide for some place,it laso could tell story.

Rain Room

I have visted The Rain Romm at Barbican center. That is really new way to make artwork. Technical  and trust must be the key words of this project. You will excited by the sound of the water when you close to the room.
The new technology inspiring us to make our work more magical."In the rain room, Random international invites you to experience what it's like to control the rain and put your trust in the work to the test." said by the introduction of Random international. When I face to the big suqaure of water , I do not have enough courage to step in. For a while, I enter in to it, and the water really get away from me .

The link between me and this work is very unusual. I think this interaction is very important and I want to make my work more interactive.
